Freezer boxes

The cheapest way to buy our beef, per pound.

Each box is a share of one animal, cut to a standard sheet, frozen and ready to carry. We price the box, not the pound, so the number you see is the number you pay.

By the cut

Steaks, roasts and ground, by the pack.

What is left after the boxes from each lot are packed. When a cut runs out it comes back with the next animal.

How ordering works

Order by Tuesday night. Beef by the weekend.

  1. Order and pay online

Pick your box or your cuts. Orders in by Tuesday 21:00 go out that same week; later ones roll to the next.

  2. Boxes: we confirm the cut sheet

For a quarter or a half we phone you before the butcher starts. Steak thickness, roast size, how much goes to ground. Ten minutes.

  3. Packed frozen on Wednesday

Everything is pulled from the farm freezer the day before, counted against your order and packed in an insulated liner with ice packs.

  4. Gate pickup or Friday delivery

Thursday 15:00 to 18:00 or Saturday 10:00 to 14:00 at the farm. Or a Friday window if you are in one of our four delivery zones.

Pickup and delivery

Two pickup days. One delivery day.

The farm gate is on Lac Le Jeune Road, about twenty minutes south of Kamloops. Pull in, tell us your name, and the box comes out of the walk-in freezer.

Delivery runs Fridays in four zones around Kamloops. There is a $150 minimum and the fee drops to nothing over $300 in the city zones.

Round hay bales on rolling pasture with morning mist in the valley and a dirt road curving away

From the farm

About 120 cows, the hay to feed them, and a lot of hills.

The ranch has been in the family since 1979. We run a cow-calf herd, put up our own hay in the valley bottom, and summer the cattle on grass in the hills above the house.

Every animal we sell was born here. We know its mother.

Herd
About 120 cow-calf pairs. Black Angus and Hereford cross.
Land
Hay fields on the home place, summer range in the hills behind.
Finishing
On our own hay at home, 20 to 24 months of age.
Butcher
A provincially inspected shop in the Kamloops area. Dry aged 14 days.
